ColorVu: read the lighting conditions, not just the technology name
In the IPC-T269HA datasheet, Hikvision states a colour sensitivity of 0.001 lux at F1.0 with AGC on; the 0 lux condition comes with supplementary light. The illuminator on this model is white light. This is a specific example, not a specification that applies to every ColorVu model.
The ColorVu Series page describes Smart Hybrid Light with colour, black-and-white or switch-to-colour-on-motion modes. You must check whether the model supports that technology/mode. Do not promise colour images in total darkness when all light sources are off.
AcuSense: target classification, not identity recognition
The DS-2CD2346G2H-I(U) datasheet lists deep-learning classification of people and vehicles. This model uses IR illumination; its 0 lux specification refers to black-and-white images with IR. Do not call it a ColorVu camera just because it has F1.0 or low-light capability.
The datasheet lists face capture and region/line-crossing events; face capture does not by itself prove identity recognition, time attendance or searching for people by name. The built-in microphone is listed specifically for the -U variant.
Conditions to check during deployment
Confirm the full part number/suffix, firmware, lens and illuminator type. Check backlighting, mounting angle, distance, the target to be monitored and the capabilities of the recorder/software. Require real-world scenario testing before agreeing acceptance criteria; do not infer accuracy rates from a technology name.
